Born in Viseu in 1992, Gonçalo Loureiro is a screenwriter and filmmaker known for the movies Marasmo (2015) and Sheila (2018). Marasmo was his final master’s project at Universidade Católica of Porto, city where he lived throughout his academic life. With more than a dozen national awards, Gonçalo made his commercial debut in 2016 for Leopardo Filmes, following the Honorable Mention awarded to his movie at the 2015 LEFFEST European Film School Competition. Sheila, his latest film, debuted at the Vila do Conde Curtas short-films festival but, this time, entering the 2018’s National competition. And thus began his film festival tour. Gonçalo is currently working on “Self-Exorcism for this Millennial (2019)” movie, a biographical film-catharsis exploring a traumatic love fallout that ravaged his own quarter-century of life.
